Matthews’ sensational catch of Quarterback Dan Shipley’s fourth-period pass counted the winning marker. Forney’s line, led by Frank Shipley, Dennis Costello and Dick McKellar, held the Mesquite attack in check while Clarence headed Forney drives that three times penetrated to the Mesquite 8-yard line.
