Forney Notes

Dallas Morning News
7 May 1890

Forney, Tex., May 6 – The Forney base ball club went to Kaufman and played Saturday against the I. and B.C. club of Kaufman. Forney was badly defeated. Our boys say they heard of the cyclone and that Forney was blown away and many people killed, which so unsettled their nerves they could not play, and hense the defeat.

Mr. Geo. Newton and family leave this week for Waxahachie and will make that place their home. Forney loses a good citizen in Mr. Newton and his family will be greatly missed socially. Mr. Newton’s ill health is the cause of their moving.

Walter Adams has gone to Houston to the meeting of the press association.
