Funeral Rites Held for Miss Opal Nance

Miss Opal Nance passed away Saturday night at a Terrell hospital following a short illness. Funeral services were held Monday from the First Baptist church with the Rev. Lloyd Duckworth and the Rev. Jas. H. Stanley officiating. Interment was in the Hillcrest cemetery.

Opal Cordelia Nance was born at Dunanville, Texas March 27, 1919. The family moved to Kaufman county and to the Markout community near Forney when she was a young girl and she had made her home here since that time. Miss Nance was employed at the Southland Manufacturing company in Terrell. She was a member of the Markout Baptist Church.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. O.L. Nance; two brothers, J.C. Nance and Christy Lee Nance; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Robertson, Miss Betty Jo Nance and Miss Bobby Lou Nance, and two nieces, Nancy and Adabeth Robertson, all of Forney.

Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral services were Mrs. Sallie Redburn and Mr.s and Mrs. Bill Stowe of Olney; Mr. and Mrs. Hillard Bailey of Kemp; Mrs. Jessie Colwell and Mrs. Lillie Layne of Mesquite; Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Flanagan and children, Mrs. June Herriage, Mrs. Minta Meeks, Mrs. Frances Goldman, Mrs. Florence Strait and Mrs. Agnes Brewster of Terrell.

Bell, Mrs. Wick Nance, Willis Nance and Mrs. Leonard Nance, of Duncanville and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Newton and family, of Seagoville.

 

Note: According to the Texas Death Index, Opal Cordelia Nance died October 17, 1959 in Kaufman County.
