Funeral Rites for Mrs. Davis Friday

Final tribute will be paid to Mrs. Minerva Idelia Davis at 10 a.m. Friday, March 26, when funeral services are conducted in the Forney Methodist church.

The service will be conducted by Rev. Joseph R. Saylor Jr, pastor, and Rev. Jerry Griffin. Mrs. Davis was a long-time member of the local church.

Mrs. Davis, 82, died March 14.

A native of Forney, she was born March 19, 1883, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodora Lindsey. She was married to Ed Davis, who survives her. Three sons and two daughters were born to them.

Pallbearers for the rites will be grandsons of the deceased. They are Pat Smith, Elwood Daunhause, Horace E. McClure, Mike McClure, Douglas Davis, and Billy Don Campbell.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Davis is survived by three sons, T.F. Davis of Brenham, Lindsey Davis of Forney, and Billy Ed Davis of Abilene; two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite McClure of Terrell, and Mrs. Bessie Campbell of Forney; three sisters, Mrs. Lon Saulters of Seagoville, Mrs. Nova Gilkey of Bryan, and Mrs. Oma Casber of Lampasas; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Hillcrest cemetery, directed by Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home.
