Michael Collins Dies in Louisi

Michael (Mike) Collins, longtime resident of the Talty community, died in Monroe, La., Monday afternoon. He will be returned to Terrell and Rosary will be recited form the Anderson Clayton Chapel at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Requiem Mass will be said at St. Martin's Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Francis Brady as celebrant. Interment will be in Oakland Memorial Park.

He was engaged in farming in the blackland of the Irish Ridge section for many years He is durvied by a son, Joe Collins of Dallas; a daughter, Miss Mary Collins of Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren; a brother, Dennis Collins of Dallas; and other relatives, including a number of nieces and nephews.

His son had gone to Monroe to be at the bedside of his father and was seriously injured in an automobile accident there Sunday night. He is in St. Francis Hospital in MOnroe and will be for some time, it is reported.
