Johnie Lee Blake

MESQUITE - Funeral services for Johnie Lee Blake, 60, of 2725 Crystal, a custodian at J.H. Florence Elementary School, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Dudley M. Hughes Funeral Chapel, 2615 S. Buckner in Dallas. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in the Cottonwood Cemetery in Scurry, Kaufman County.

He died in Dallas Friday.

Blake, a native of Forney, had lived in Mesquite since 1966 when he joined the Mesquite Independence School District. He was a military veteran of World War II and a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas.

Note: Johnie Lee Blake was buried next to his wife, Bessie A. Blake, in the Cottonwood Cemetery. He was born February 19, 1911 and died August 27, 1971.
