Mrs. Rentzel Dies Following Long Illness

Mrs. Charles M. Rentzel of 9227 East Lake Highland Drive, died in a Dallas hospital Thursday morning after a month's illness. She was the wife of Charles M. Rentzel, a Dallas Country Club manager for many years.

The former Iva Crawford, Mrs. Rentzel was born in Forney, Kaufman County. She lived in Dallas for approximately forty years.

Active in civic affairs, she had been president of the Highland Park Methodist Missionary Society, of the Progressive Study Club of Dallas, and president and organizer of a King's Daughters Circle. She was also active in PTA work, Red Cross and Community Chest.

Mrs. Rentzel was known for her many book reviews, given for charitable benefits.

Survivors are a son, W.F. Rentzel, and a daughter, Mrs. W.J. Humphreys, both of Dallas; two brothers, Homer Crawford of Baytown and Will Crawford of Forney; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Pinson and Mrs. Jess Moore, both of Forney, and Mrs. L.J. Mantius of Dallas, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sparkman-Brand Chapel, 2115 Ross, the Rev. Dr. Marshal T. Steel, pastor of Highland Park Methodist Church, officiating. Burial is to be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Ennis Moore, Jess Pinson, Roy Minton, Walter Bopp, E.J. Durning and Billy Crawford.
