Pioneer Resident Passes Away Monday

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for C.J. Pinson, a member of a Forney pioneer family, who passed away at his home Monday morning. The services were held at the Anderson-Clayton chapel at 3 o'clock p.m. with the Rev. Alton Vaughan and Dr. Jas. H. Stanley officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest cemetery.

Charles Jay Pinson, a son of the late William H. and Elizabeth Tabor Pinson was born in Forney on March 6, 1895. He was engaged in farming until ill health forced his retirement.

Mr. Pinson was a veteran of World War I, having served in the United States Navy.

He was married to Miss Bess Marie Sibley on February 2, 1919. To this union one child was born.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Charles J. Pinson, Jr., six grandchildren, of Rhome: four brothers, J.F. Pinson of Seattle, Washington, Newt Pinson, Arthur Pinson and Clem Pinson, all of Forney; five sisters, Mrs. G.G. Fix of Houston, Mrs. S.G. Fleming, Forney, Mrs. Harold Crain, Nocona, Mrs. Guyton McKellar, Forney and Mrs. Carrie Lemmon of Dallas.

Attending the funeral from out of town were Mrs. Harold Crain, Nocona, Mrs. Carrie Lemmon, and Jess Pinson, Dallas; Henry Venner, Wolfe City; Mrs. A.B. Boyer, Greenville; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pinson, Lancaster; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pinson, Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Sibley, Arlington, Perry Tabor, Seagoville; Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Kimsey, Jacksonville; Claude Stallings, Terrell; E.T. Mackey, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Coffey, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coffey, Fort Worth; Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Thomas, McKinney.

 

Note: Charles Ray Pinson is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery with his wife and son. He was born March 6, 1895 and died June 18, 1956.
