Rites Held for Banker, O.W. Reagin

FORNEY, Texas – Funeral services for O.W. Reagin, 73, president of the Forney State Bank, were held Sunday in the First Christian Church. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Reagin died Friday in a Dallas hospital.

A lifelong resident of Forney, he was the son of the late E.E. Reagin, a Forney pioneer. He attended Texas A&M and was graduated from Ohio State University, returning to Texas A&M as a faculty member.

He had been associated with the Forney State Bank since the bank was founded in 1915, rising to the presidency in 1961. He also was the owner of the O.W. Reagin Insurance Agency.

He was a member of the Brooklyn Masonic Lodge, serving as treasurer for many years.

Survivors: Wife and two sisters, Mrs. H.N. Forman and Mrs. R.E. Cowart of Forney.

 

Note: Orville Waters Reagin is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery next to his wife Florence Williams Reagin.
