Ollie Ray Farmer, 37, Dies

Ollie Ray Farmer, 37, a Forney native, died early Friday morning, June 21 in Mesquite.

Farmer was born December 3, 1936 and was raised in Forney, where he attended Forney High School. For 13 years he was employed with Dallas Power and Light Company. For seven years he lived in California, but returned to Mesquite, where he lived until his death.

Funeral services were held Sunday at First Baptist Church of Forney, with the Rev. Jerry D. Griffin officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery.

His survivors included his wife, Sherry, of Mesquite; two sons, Michael Ray Farmer of Crandall and John Coby Farmer of Mesquite; two daughters, Sherri Denise and Kelly Maureen Farmer, both of Mesquite; his father, Ralph Farmer of Rylie; a sister, Jo Ann Poteet of Mesquite; a brother, Jackie Farmer, of Garland; and a grandmother, Mrs. Ollie Farmer, Forney.
