Funeral Rites Held for Mrs. Mary E. Rouvaldt

Mrs. Mary E. Rouvaldt, widow of the late John R. Rouvaldt, died Sunday morning in a Terrell hospital. Rosary was recited at her home at Talty Monday evening at 8 o’clock. Requiem Mass was held from St.. Martin’s Catholic church Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock with the Rev. Francis Brady as celebrant. Interment was in Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell.

Mary Elizabeth Rouvaldt was born in County Claire, Ireland, on September 30, 1882. She came to the United States when she was seventeen years old and shortly after her arrival in this country came to “Irish Ridge” as the Talty community was then called. She was a resident of that community the remainder of her life.

Her husband, John R. Rouvaldt, and two daughters preceded her in death and she is survived by: two sons, Mike Rouvaldt of Forney and Charles Rouvaldt of Talty; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Pat M. Maloney of Talty, John J. Maloney of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Bland Barnett of Dallas and Sister Patrice of the School of Sisters of Notre Dame of New Orleans, La.

TERRELL, Texas, Feb. 17 (Sp.) – Mrs. Mary E. Rouvaldt, widow of the late John R. Rouvaldt, died at a hospital here Sunday.

Rosary was recited at the residence Monday night. Requiem mass will be read at St. Martin’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Oakland Memorial Park at Terrell.

Mrs. Rouvaldt was born in County Claire, Ireland, Sept. 30, 1882. She came to the United States when she was 17 and moved to Irish Ridge shortly after her arrival in this county. She has been a resident of that community since that time.

 

Note: Mary Elizabeth Maloney Rouvaldt is buried at Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell next to her husband, John Robert Rouvaldt.
