Mary Edith McBride, a longtime resident of Terrell, died in a local hospital Thursday, Jan. 4. Funeral services will be held from the Anderson-Clayton Chapel in Terrell at noon Saturday with the Rev. George Strickland officiating. Interment will be in the Bright Star Cemetery in Wills Point.

A daughter of the late Ed and Bessie McKellar, Mrs. McBride was born in Forney on Oct. 31, 1906 and had lived in the Poetry and College Mound communities as a girl. Except for a short time spent in Forney she had lived the remainder of her life in Terrell.

She was employed as a ward attendant at Terrell State Hospital for 25 years and was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church of Terrell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.C. “Lum” McBride.

She is survived by her cousins, Doris Hood of Forney and Mavis Foster of Terrell.
