Funeral Rites to be Held for Mrs. J.M. Hill

Funeral rites will be held Friday afternoon (today) at 2:30 o’clock at the First Christian Church for Mrs. J.M. Hill who died Wednesday night at her home. Mrs. Hill had been in failing health for some time. The Rev. L.B. Jenkins, Rev. Gus Hamage and Rev. Howard L. Holland will officiate at the service. Interment will be in the family plot at Hillcrest cemetery. Nephews of the deceased will serve as pallbearers. They will be: C.D. Hughes, Harold Dykes, M.C. Blackburn, Henry Abbott, John Neighbors, and Wm. Major Bowles.

Leora Dykes Hill was born in Forney Oct. 7, 1888. Her parents were Wm. Dykes, Sr., and Sally Sarah Baker. She was married to J.M. Hill August 13, 1905. To this union two daughters were born. Her husband passed away in 1946. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. R.A. Weatherford of Forney and Mrs. James D. McCormack of Garland; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. C.D. Hughes of Forney and Mrs. Jack Spratt of Dallas; and one brother, Wm. Dykes, Jr., Dallas.

Mrs. J.M., passed away Wednesday. Survived by daughters, Mrs. R.A. Weatherford, Forney; Mrs. James D. McCormack, Garland; three grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. C.D. Hughes, Forney; Mrs. Jack Spratt, Dallas; brother, William Dykes, Jr., Dallas; a number of nieces and nephews. Services 2:30 p.m. Friday. First Christian Church. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery.
