James Griffin, Jr. 75 of Fort Worth

BURLESON – James Griffin Jr., a retired civil engineer, died Monday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 75.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Forney. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney.

Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home in Forney is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Griffin lived in the Fort Worth area most of his life. He was a former resident of Forney. He was a 1934 graduate of Forney High School and a 1938 graduate of Texas A & M University, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets.

Mr. Griffin was chief of specifications for the Fort Worth division of the Army Corps of Engineers and retired after 40 years.He was a member of Masonic Lodge 1164 in Fort Worth.

Survivors: Wife for 50 years, Claudine Neal Griffin of Burleson; son, James Griffin III of Dallas; daughter, Nancy Pyle of Burleson; three sisters, Linn Dietz of Houston, Frances Thigpin of Corsicana and Dixie Reid of Marble Falls; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
