Rosary was recited Sunday evening at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Dallas, for Mrs. Edward R. Maher, 82, who died Saturday. Mass was celebrated Monday and interment was in Calvary Hill Mausoleum.

A native of Forney, the former Vivian Layden, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Layden, she had lived in Dallas since 1930. Surviving are her husband, three sons, including the Rev. Msgr. Edward Maher, vice president and associate professor of history at the University of Dallas, Thomas and Louis Maher; a daughter, Mrs. Rita Kelliher. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and a member of the Holy Trinity Church.

Note: Her name was Genevieve Layden Maher.

Mrs. Edward R. Maher, 82, of 4331 Belclaire, wife of a Dallas Businessman and civic leader, died here Saturday.

A native of Forney, Kaufman County, Mrs. Maher had been a Dallas resident since 1930.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, including the Rev. Msgr. Edward Maher, vice-president and associate professor of history at the University of Dallas, a daughter, 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy in Dallas and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Alter Society. She was a Lady of the Holy Sepulcher.

Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Calvary Hill Mausoleum.
