Mrs. Brennan Rites Monday

TALTY, Texas — Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Brennan, 92, of Talty, at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Martin’s Catholic Church here. The Rev. F. Gabryl will be celebrant. Burial will be in Oakland Memorial Park.

Rosary was recited in the Anderson-Clayton Chapel in Terrell Sunday night.

Mrs. Brennan, who moved to the Kaufman County community known as “Irish Ridge” 70 years ago, died Saturday at her home. A native of Edina, Mo., she was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church.

Survivors are four sons, five daughters, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Requiem Mass was held this morning at St. Martin’s Church for Mrs. Mike J. Brennan, 92, who died at her Talty community home Saturday aftertoon. The Mass was recited by Father F. Gabryl as celebrant. Interment was in Oakland Memorial Park.

She was born in Edina, Mo., on May 4, 1867, and came to Texas as a young woman. The family moved to Kaufman County to the Irish Ridge 70 years ago, and she has been a resident there since that time.

She was married to Mike J. Brennan in 1887, and 10 children were born to the family. Her husband and one child preceded her in death. She is survived by four sons, James Brennan of Forney, Thomas Brennan of Dallas, Mike Brennan and Bernard Brennan, both of Fort Worth; five daughters, Mrs. R. E. Kelly of Houston, Mrs. Gray Peek of Winslow, Ark., Mrs. George Davis of Glendale, Calif., Sister Mary Bernard of Chalmette, La., Sister Regis of Alton, Ill; sever grandchildren; 11 great-grand-children, and other relatives.

She was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church.
