In Loving Memory of Earl Farmer

Again our community has been shadowed by the dark angel of death and our hearts and homes made sad, when the news spread about noon, July 6, 1925, that the newly blossomed life of Earl Farmer had departed from this world.

He had been a sufferer for many months but he bore his suffering patiently, smilingly. He would always greet you with a smile. No murmer, no complaint, ever fell from his lips during his affliction.

He was submissive and resigned.

All that loving hands and kind hearts could do failed. As we look through blinding bitter tears, we cannot understand why one so dear to us and so young in life should be taken away.

But we know that God is too wise to err, and too good to be unkind therefore we would say – “Thy Will be done.”

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.P. Farmer, two brothers, Ralph and Jack and one sister, Lois.

Funeral services were conducted at eleven o’clock by the Rev. J.F. Stanley at the First Baptist Church in Forney. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery.

We would say to his beloved parents, brothers and sister, who are weeping because of the separation, will you not think of Earl resting safely in the arms of Jesus and some sweet day ‘ere long you may go and greet him never more to say goodbye. If it were possible for him to speak today, he would say “Come up higher.”

Death has again bereft us,
Again we’ve said good bye,
As Earl has left us,
To live with him on high.

But Earl is only sleeping,
Then why be sad today,
In God’s eternal keeping,
His soul is safe for aye.

There comes a time of meeting
Where all is joy and love,
And soon we shall be greeting,
This loved one again, above.

By a friend.
