Mrs. Carl C. Senter, 53, Texas Native, Passes

FORNEY, Texas, April 18 – Mrs. Dixie Florelle Douglas Senter, 53, a resident of Forney for forty-eight years, died Sunday at a Dallas hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Forney First Christian Church.

Mrs. Senter was born in Bullard, Smith County, and was married at Forney in 1916 to Carl C. Senter, now vice-president of the Farmer’s National Bank of Forney, who survives her. She had been ill for several months. Other survivors are a daughter, Miss Carolyn Senter, Forney; a son, Conway Senter, University of Texas, and a brother, R.L. Douglas, Dallas.

Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James K. Brooks, J.M. Hughes, Richard Pinson, Guyton McKellar, Forney, and M.M. Layden and W.A. Brooks Jr., Dallas.

Note: Dixie Senter is listed as “Floy” in the census records.
