Funeral Services Are Held Sunday for Clem Adams

Clem J. Adams Sr., long time resident of the Talty community, died in Dallas Friday night. Rosary was recited from the Anderson-Clayton Chapel in Terrell Sunday night. The funeral mass was to be held from St. Martin’s Church at Talty at 10:00 a.m. Monday with Monsignor John Brady as Celebrant assisted by the Rev. Father Casimir Glogowski. Interment will be in Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell.

Clement John Adams was born in Collin County, Texas on November 14, 1881. The family moved to Kaufman County when he was a very young man and he had lived the greater part of his life in the Talty community where he was engaged in farming. After his retirement he moved to Dallas twelve years ago to make his home.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He was married to Miss Catherine Costello on November 22, 1904 and to this union eight children were born. His wife and one daughter have preceded him in death and he is survived by: two sons, Joe M. Adams of Dallas, C.J. Adams Jr. of Los Angeles, California; five daughters, Sister Mary Brendan, SSND of New Orleans, Louisiana, Mrs. Mike Denehey of Forney, Mrs. Bert Hatzenbuehler, Mrs. L. B. Ramsey, and Mrs. John R. Byrne, all of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sister M. Celine, SSND, of Chatawa, Mississippi; five brothers, Frank Adams and Lloyd Adams, both of Dallas, and Joe Adams, Kirt Adams, and Ray Adams, all of Talty.
