On the evening of Aug. 12, 1905, the cruel death angel knocked and claimed for his own our own little darling Birdie Mae.

She was the only little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.P. Farmer, age 2 years and 4 months, the pride of their home, the pet of the community. As a tender bud that openeth fair in the morning, and in the evening is plucked; so it was with her.

Too pure for this cruel world, only fit for Heaven. Though we hear her prattling voice no more in this home, where she was once the star, we are sure she sweetly rests in the Home not made with hands, but in the Great Beyond where the broken family circle can be again reunited.

Be faithful, loved ones, little Birdie Mae awaits you in the Spirit Land where only the pure ones dwell. Let us ever strive to have the spirit of Job and say in our hearts, “The Lord giveth and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Her Aunt

Note: Birdie Mae Farmer is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery.
