Safe in the Savior’s Arms

The death of Annie May Adams, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Adams, has brought sorrow to many hearts. This little girl was born February 18th, 1889, died Sept. 19th, 1892, and was laid away in the Catholic cemetery at Terrell. She spent but a short time on earth, but in that time are gathered the most precious moments of the father and mother’s lives, and in that little grave is buried their fondest hopes. It was so hard to give the little one up, with all her sweet winning ways, but the parents, the grand-parents and others who loved her, have the assurance that their treasure is safe in the keeping of the Heavenly Father, who in His infinite wisdom, knew what best, and that is their comfort in this sad hour.

She is sleeping, calmly sleeping
In a new made grave to-day;
We are weeping, sadly weeping
For the darling gone away.
One by one the gentle shepherd
Gathers lambs from every fold,
Folds them in his loving bosom
With a tenderness untold.

She is waiting, ever waiting,
For the father, mother, left,
And she’ll gladly hail their coming
To the mansions of the blest.
One by one the Lord will call us,
When our labor here is done,
And then as we cross the river,
We may meet her, one by one.
