Forney Lions’ Club Has Its First Anniversary

FORNEY, Kaufman Co., Texas – April 15 – The Lions’ Club of Forney celebrated its first birthday anniversary Tuesday evening with a banquet in the basement of the Methodist Church. About seventy-five were present, which included the wives of the members. A program was arranged by a committee under the chairmanship of Mrs. W.E. Jones. The invocation was pronounced by Dr. D.H. Hudgins. B.B. Hulsey, secretary of the club, acted as toastmaster. A costume song by Master Edwin Jordan and Margaret Davis was well received, with Mrs. Frank Bates at the piano. The Rev. C.E. Chambers, Walter Adams, Dr. Byrom, Judge Tom Harris and President Barnes spoke.
