Forney, Texas, Sept, 17 – The first membership meeting and luncheon of the Forney Commercial Club was held Tuesday night, with a full membership and a number of visitors in attendance. Addresses were delivered by R. B. Elmore of the Texas Immigration Bureau of Dallas, Col. L. J. Wortham, editor of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram; O. E. Griffin, president of the organization; E. M. Riggs, a local business man, and Crisp McMeans, Secretary. A spirit of enthusiasm dominated the occasion and the meeting was in all respects a successful inauguration of a movement to secure additional members. H. E. Gathle, superintendent of schools, acted as toastmaster.
