Dorothy Roberts Marries William Edgar Lyle Jr.

Miss Dorothy Evelyn Roberts, formerly of Dallas, became the bride of William Edgar Lyle Jr. Tuesday evening in a ceremony at the First Baptist Church of Wills Point. The Rev. James H. Stanley of Forney officiated.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Roberts of Forney and Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Lyle of Johnson City, Tenn.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length Empire gown of imported satin with a Rosepoint lace bodice accented with seed pearls. A pearl trimmed lace caplet held the finger-tip illusion veil. She carried a white orchid and stephanotis.

Attendants were Miss Glenda Roberts, sister of the bride, maid of honor; Mrs. Bill Barnard, Miss Patricia Ann Roberts of Fort Worth and Miss Mary Virginia Roberts of Wills Point, bridesmaids. Roy Koener of Electra was best man with James B. Roberts of Forney, Samuel C. Cooper, Jim Owen of Fort Worth and Denver Wallas of New York as ushers.

Robert Owen Roberts of Forney and Clifford Carl Roberts of Fort Worth lighted candles. Paul Roberts of Wills Point was ring bearer.

The bride is a graduate of East Texas State College where she was a member of Carmica Social Club, Eta Epsilon and Club Council Forum. She also has attended North Texas State College, Texas Woman’s University, Midwestern and SMU. Mr. Lyle is a graduate of East Tennessee State College and the University of Oklahoma.

After a trip to Florida, the couple will reside in Electra.
