R.C. Hulsey, Gloria Gill Are Engaged

Announcement of the approaching marriage of Miss Gloria Gill to Riter Carol Hulsey of Freeport was made at a tea Saturday afternoon given by Mrs. H.P. Harber of Dallas, Mrs. Ben L. Gill Sr. and Mrs. J.T. Marriott at Mrs. Gill’s home in Terrell.

Miss Martha Ann Boyd presented the guests with cards announcing the engagement of the wedding which will be Dec. 18.

Receiving the guests were Mrs. Gill and Mrs. W.P. Allen Sr., grandmothers of the bride-elect; Miss, Gill and Mrs. B.B. Hulsey Sr., mother of the bridegroom-to-be.

In the house party were Mrs. E. R. Rutherford, Mrs. W.C. McCord Jr., Mrs. W.P. Allen Jr., Mrs. R.E. Abernathy, Mrs. B.S. Roberts, Mrs. Clarence Pickerell, Mrs. Jerome Head, Mrs. A.W. Riter, Mrs. F.M. Raike, Miss Frederick Raike, Mrs. Roy Powell, Mrs. A.A. Boyd, Mrs. B.M. Childress and Miss Louise Childress. In the dining room were Miss Emily Rash, Miss Peggy Bosse, Mrs. B.B. Hulsey Jr., Miss Kate Marriott, Miss Margaret McCord, Miss Jeannice Hodges and Mrs. H.L. Foster.

Miss Gill, daughter of Ben L. Gill Jr., attended Hockaday Junior College and the University of Texas. She is a member of Pie Beta Phi sorority.

Mr. Hulsey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B.B. Hulsey Sr. of Forney. He attended Texas Christian College and was graduated from the University of Texas and Harvard Business school. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Miss Ann Townes of Houston will attend Miss Gill as maid of honor and Mr. Hulsey will attend his son as best man. Miss Patricia Allen, Miss Constance McCord, Miss Emily Rash and Mrs. B.B. Hulsey Jr. will be bridesmaids.

Dallas guests attending the announcement tea were Mrs. Rutherford, Mrs. Abernathy, Mrs. R.L. Warren, Mrs. S.G. Roberts, Mrs. Joseph Morgan, Mrs. W.P. Clements*, Miss Betty Clements and Mrs. Marion R. Dunn.

 

*Note: This is probably Evelyn Clements, mother of former Texas Governor Bill Clements.
