MESQUITE, Texas – The former Miss Jo Ann McCallum and her bridegroom, Gene Carroll Hickson, will live in Mesquite. They exchanged wedding vows Saturday evening before the Rev. J.S. Ponder in Hill Top Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. McCallum, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Hickson of Forney.

Mr. McCallum gave his daughter in marriage. Her silk gown was styled with a jeweled lace yoke and bouffant skirt with chapel train. Her illusion veil was caught to a pearl crown, and she carried an orchid and rosebuds.

Miss Judy Carol McCallum was her sister’s maid of honor, and H.C. Hickson of Dallas was best man. Mrs. Sharon Stringer of Forney and Miss Juanita Andrews of Garland were bridesmaids. Howard Myers and Sammy Myers, both of Garland, were groomsmen, and Harold Riggs of Dallas and Lloyd Myers ushered.
