Marriage of Robert Hamblen & Constance Goodrich

Mr. Hamblen and his bride, the former Miss Goodrich, will reside in Dallas after a wedding trip to New Orleans.

Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Goodrich, 5615 Glen Lakes, the bride is a former student of SMU where her sorority was Kappa Alpha Theta. Her husband is now attending SMU where he belongs to Phi Delta Theta. His parents are Mrs. Aline Hamblen, 6139 Park Lane, and J.E. Hamblen of Forney.

The couple was married Friday night in Cox Chapel, Highland Park Methodist Church, the Rev. William Dickinson Jr. officiating. Wedding music was presented by Alexander Boggs Ryan, the bride’s cousin.

Given by her father in marriage, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory silk taffeta with a decollete neckline and lace-covered bodice. A headpiece of orange blossoms and pearls held her elbow-length illusion veil and she carried white orchids and white rosebud atop a Bible.

Miss Carol Jo Shiner was maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Misses Stephanie Evans, North Hollywood, Calif.; Martha Ann Hamblen, Linda Pitts, Vickie Hulett and Mrs. Reggie Smith. Sally Goodrich was flower girl.

Kent Van Meter was best man and groomsmen were James Hamblen, Odessa; Stillman Abbott, Denton; Paschal Hamblen, Willis Tate and Bob Barnes.

A reception was held at the Texas Club. Members of the house party were Mrs. Sue Evans, North Hollywood; Miss Laura Walthall, Atlanta, Ga.; Miss Betsy Wright and Miss Jo Lynn Guffey.
