Miss Clyborne Wed to the Rev. Greer

Miss Margaret Clyborne of Garland exchanged marriage vows with the Rev. James Gossett Greer Jr. in rites Saturday morning at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Cathedral.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Clyborne of San Antonio, and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.G Greer of Anton. He is vicar of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Mesquite and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Forney.

The nuptial Eucharist was celebrated by the Rev. Homer F. Rogers before the marriage ceremony. Vows were read by the Rev. C. Avery Mason, assisted by the Rev. Thomas J. Talley.

A clergy choir sang, accompanied by Henry Sanderson.

Mrs. George E. Luck was matron of honor. Miss Pat Russell was bridesmaid, and Mary Kathleen Clark was junior bridesmaid. Susan Weaver was flower girl.

The Rev. George E. Luck was best man and W.L. Clyborne Jr. was groomsman. Larry Ledebur and Dick Cowles ushered.

The bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta. The domed skirt swept into a chapel-length train and her elbow-length veil of illusion was caught to a crown of pearls and sequins. She carried roses and English ivy on a white prayer book.

A reception in the Great Hall at the church followed the ceremony. After a wedding trip to New Orleans, La., the couple will live in Mesquite.

The bride is a graduate of Austin College, where she was a member of Alpha Psi Omega and Blackfriars. The bridegroom was graduated form North Texas State College and the General Theological Seminary in New York City.
