Kathryn Wolfe Criswell was born November 3, 1909, in Quinlan Texas. She graduated from high school in January of 1927 and began teaching that spring in her alma mater. She graduated from Wesley College, East Texas State University and later received her Master’s Degree from SMU.

The teaching career of Kathryn Wolfe Criswell spanned nearly 40 years. She launched countless students on their respective roads to success with reading, writing, and math skills. She was an unassuming woman whose dedication and commitment to her students stands as a model for all teachers.

It is appropriate that this school building bear her name from this day forth. Kathryn Wolfe Criswell was truly a pioneer in education and a champion for children.
